PPF welcomes a new team member
Portraiture tuition has always presented somewhat of a problem at Painting-Photography-France. The issue has always been… models – who do we use?
- We can’t expect guests themselves to act as models.
- The amateur models we know are always very difficult to organise for dates and times to suit our schedule
- Hiring professional models is impractical and prohibitively expensive; the nearest are 100 kms from us, in Bordeaux
We’re therefore pleased to announce that we have finally solved this problem by taking the plunge and engaging the exclusive services of portraiture model Amélie Loutoff who, from now on, will be fulfilling that role here on a permanent basis.
Of Chinese and German parentage (which no doubt accounts for her intriguing looks), Amélie was born in China and later moved to Germany, where we were fortunate enough to discover her. Although she had never before worked as a photographic or artists’ model, we found that she possessed all the attributes we’d been looking for – in particular, a willingness to sit patiently for long periods completely unfazed while photographers fuss around learning the lighting techniques and camera settings that make for good portraits. So, when we learned that Amélie was prepared to leave Germany and come to France for a very reasonable fee (as long as we were prepared to pay her removal costs, provide her with accommodation, and take care of her wardrobe), we sealed the deal immediately.
As you can see, Amélie has a contemporary look, with an almost flawless complexion, hazel eyes, and long auburn hair. She is 178 cms tall and her vital statistics are 86-61-86 (for those of a non-metric persuasion, that’s 5’9″ and 34-24-34).
Amélie started earning her keep just a couple of weeks after her arrival at Painting-Photography-France, posing diligently and patiently for hours on end during a four-day portraiture workshop that Pete held here from 15th to 18th May. The photo of her below is from one of those workshop shoots.
We’re delighted to welcome her into the ‘PPF fold’
